Without looking anything up I'm pretty sure that if the longitudinal flue space 
is not blocked and the shelves are less than 64 sqft. it's okay. You would have 
to look up the definition of solid shelves etc... but the info is in the book. 
I think FM is different than NFPA on shelves smaller than 64 sqft.

Quick question for all you storage pro's.... I know that one of the limitations 
of using an ESFR system where there is rack storage is that the shelves cannot 
be solid.  I don't see anywhere that says what the shelves can be made out of 
and is there a percentage of "open" space that the shelves need to be to not be 
considered solid?
