The short answer for rolled paper storage is that a closed array is when the 
rolls are stacked close enough together that they cannot "unroll".

I have been unable to find definition for "Closed Array Storage". 

I would assume it means that like product or commodity to be stored together 
and not dispersed throughout a warehouse environment.
