Looking at my old 1998 NFPA 20 Handbook. 3-4 Foundation and Setting gives
some criteria.

Subject: Mounting of Fire Pump

Question for the group. Do horizontal fire pumps need to be mounted on a
concrete slab? The reason is I had a pump company send me a report with the
discrepancy that the pump, when tested vibrated laterally due to the fact
that when it was installed they just used a frame bolted to the concrete
floor. In researching NFPA 20 I only find some seismic restrictions. Am I
missing something? Thanks
