I have seen it once in the following situation:

1 - contractor installed pump at a facility
2 - contractor had maintenance contract for facility and performed annual pump tests
3 - Facility had an upgrade and required pump upgrade
4 - Contractor removed original pump and used it on another project they had that required the pump of similar size.

Not sure it is proper or not, but they have the maintenance contract on both buildings and the pumps still test within specs every year - to date.

Hello Mike,

Our company has not. It would depend a lot on where it came from IF (and that
is a big IF depending on code) we would even consider it. I have had customers
ask if there were used pumps out there when they had one needing replacement in
an existing building.

Has anyone ever installed a used fire pump for a new facility?
