Obviously something wasn't up to par. One picture taken by an employee before exiting showed a pretty significant fire in its early stage but no sprinkler discharge.
I've dealt with projects where there were sprinklers present but either the system was impaired or incorrectly designed for the occupancy such that the fire resulted in a total loss of property. So just because there are sprinklers hanging from the steel doesn't mean the building is actually sprinklered. Craig L.
