It needs to meet the definition of limited combustible (8.15.1.2.2 2010 edition) or you could just apply 8.15.1.2.9 (if its less than 55 sqft). If you sprinkler it just apply 8.15.1.5 (2)
-----Original Message----- From: Sprinklerforum [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dewayne Martinez Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2015 11:24 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Slatted ceilings - sprinklers above We have a room which contains a “simulated” wood slatted ceiling. There is ½” gap between the slats (6in wide)but they will be laying a type of black sound mat on top of the ceiling to close up the openings between them. The GC’s EOR (not a fire engineer) is stating the we will need sprinkler protection above the ceiling because the sound mat is not fire rated. We have protection below but not above. Who is right? Thanks, Dewayne _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/listinfo.cgi/sprinklerforum-firesprinkler.org ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the Symantec Email Security.cloud service.
