Anyone have a good reference on calculating PRV setting on a combined
standpipe. It's been 20 years since I've had to do one. I downloaded some
directions from Hydratec, now I'm more confused than ever. I'm going to give
them a call in the AM to see if they can give some additional guidance.
Here are the system stats.
City static 85, residual 41 @ 1350. Pump is 750gpm @ 105. Pump churn (off pump
curve) 121 psi. Combined static + churn = 206. Building is 6 stories + partial
basement. pump is in basement. Pump discharge to highest outlet = 85'. Based on
static pressure alone I figure the first 4 floors will need PRV's on both the
system and the hose valves. Where I am hung up is how to determine the pressure
settings for the system PRV's.
