Printing out the Standards is going to cost as well and it becomes something
I’m throwing out after the test as I have no use for printed versions.

I have PDF versions on my laptop but since NICET won’t allow laptops, (another
pet peeve of mine with them) that’s no help.

This is one reason I’ve held off any further NICET testing.

If you use NFPA All-Access, it should allow you to download and print copies of
the pure codes in PDF [but not the handbooks].
You should be able to download the PDF of each code you need for a class or
testing print a working copy.
[The copy protection feature adds information identifying the party that owns
the PDF so that will also show up on the printout.]

Respectfully,

David Blackwell

For those taking the computer based testing, how do they handle reference books?

We no longer purchase hardcopies of NFPA or codes anymore, we have an on-line
subscription service so everything referenced is on-line. I do not want to
have to buy hardcopies of Standards just for the test. I find electronic
version far more convenient.
