Had the same issue with the couplings on some pitotless nozzles. Then my brain told me to not leave them in a closed plastic case until they had time to dry out. Problem solved.

I changed to male ends that are brass, and the female quick coupler only with stainless steel balls and springs. I usually procured from NEMCO. This prevents spurious leakage at the seal between the two, which would invalidate any accuracy in readings. Problem eliminated. WD40 could affect the rubber seat material.
