Had the same issue with the couplings on some pitotless nozzles. Then my brain
told me to not leave them in a closed plastic case until they had time to dry
out. Problem solved.

Subject: Re: Pitot flow test kits

I have had that a bunch of years ago. I changed to male ends that are brass,
and the female quick coupler only with stainless steel balls and springs. I
usually
procured from NEMCO.

This prevents spurious leakage at the seal between the two, which would
invalidate any accuracy in readings.

Problem eliminated. WD40 could affect the rubber seat material.

As an aside, you may wish to make the investment in Ray Pressure Snubbers, to
derive stability, and achieve greater accuracy.

Dewayne,

Hopefully it is not one of ours or NEMCO (our supplier), we supply only Parker
fittings, brass body and full stainless internals and pay considerably extra
over imported ones.

Anyone else have a problem with these new pitot flow test kits with the air
"quick" couplings for the gauge rusting up and giving inaccurate readings?
If so what have you done about it? I am thinking we should remove the gauge
from the coupling after every use and blast it with WD-40 or the equivalent.
Thanks,
Dewayne
