Chapter 30 of the IFC deals with ovens/furnaces. First determine the Class of
the oven based on its use.

If your process falls into the definition of use for a Class A or Class B oven
per Section 3006, internal fire protection is needed.

Powder Coating curing ovens are often considered Class B ovens.

Subject: powder coating ovens [EXTERNAL]

Looking for some guidance on hazard classification for a large oven used for
curing powder coating and NFPA 86 wasn't much help. Per NFPA 33 powder coating
booths are OH2 so logically I would think the oven curing the powder coating
would be OH2.... Thought?

Thanks
