Mike,
I would not infer 2 hours period based on the definition of
hydrostatic test in chapter three-- specified pressure for specified
time. For new it is 200 psi/2hrs. For remodel it is working psi/not
specified.

This is me talking.

Colleagues:
We were recently discussing the hydrostatic test requirements of a head
relocate job and I stumbled on to a question. In the two exceptions for
modifications under 20 sprinklers and modifications that can't be isolated
such as relocating drops, it says they "require testing at system working
pressure". Is it inferred that they also require a 2 hour test period? In
the past I know I've worked with clients as a contractor where we did a
working pressure test by simply isolating the system, walking the affected
area to look for leaks, and then checking back at the riser to ensure no
drop in pressure without necessarily sticking to a specific amount of
time.
