Greg,

I believe your best opportunity is in 8.15.1.2.5 if you can convince yourself that the C-channel is equivalent to wood joist or other solid construction.   However I'd be extra cautious in that assessment as you may be required to provide a minimum 3,000 ft² remote area per 11.2.3.1.5.1.
