All it says in 13R is that if the line is over 4” apply NFPA 24, if under4” 
NFPA 24 is not necessary.  2019 NFPA 13R, A.5.3.

8.2.1 Pipe Sizing. Piping shall be sized using hydraulic calculation procedures 
in accordance with NFPA 13.

Couldn’t find anything else.

Calcs dictate pipe sizes.

I remember years ago hearing or reading the minimum UG size for a 13-R system 
is 2”.  I’ve searched 13, 13R, and 24 during what little time I have to do so 
these days, but ive not found the information I’m looking for……
Any help one could provide would be appreciated.
