My guess is that this is really BIM vs non-BIM. I have been finding that some design packages are eliminating the term BIM and but requiring all the BIM-type coordination. I think this is to not trigger BIM exclusions in contracts and to get the same stuff without having to pay the premium. I have modified my standard contract to exclude BIM and similar computer based coordination.
BTW, I’m getting suckered into BIM coordination for a tenant finish project.
