Typically here it’s one or two outlets controlled by a PIV dropping through the roof to prevent freezing, sort of a reverse FDC with a manual control valve. I think that’s why the term hydrant is common. I think by the letter 14 only requires a single connection but we typically provide 2 if asked without fighting it. There’s an annex figure (A.7.3.2.7 in 2019) that illustrates the “how to”.
