None of that information was made available to us. It isn't super close to the
Supply as the Racking is in the Middle of the Store and the Fire Riser/Pump
Room is on the far corner of the store on the outside of the building.

[EXTERNAL SENDER - USE CAUTION]

Technically, most changes require evaluation.

Racks must be balanced with the overhead.

Is it closer to the supply?

Is the common connection point providing less than .5psi balance?

There are many factors at play with this.

Subject: [Sprinklerforum] Fire Sprinklers in Racking

Question concerning Fire Sprinklers in Racking:

Scenario.....

Got called out to a Home Improvement Store who had their Paint Racks moved and
when they did they had the Piping in the Racks removed by a Company however
this Company did not return to put the piping back in thus my company being
called out to fix the issue. When we started to evaluate the situation we were
told that the Racking Size had not changed and the Hazard had not either
however once we started the job and got to the point where the Piping that was
removed be put back in we found that the Rack Size was different and the piping
set up was not correct for the length.

Rack Length: 54' 9"

Total Pipe Network: 55' 10"

Sprinkler Heads 50" apart

The Piping Network was all Pre-Fab welded Pipe.

Question is with the change is setup does the Sprinkler System need to be
looked at by an Engineer and have plans drawn up or can this all be done
without going to that length?

Does it need to be Re-Calculated?
