I would agree, I believe the only exception that would work in this case is the filled with non-combustible insulation one as the only other one that allows bar joist or other non-solid construction is a max 6” deep space. We run into these non-solid members more and more often. Makes me think I should see if the FPRF is doing anything with something like that and/or suggest it perhaps?
