I have a car dealership that is installing a tire carousel the will be 21'7" to
the top of storage. It will not be enclosed or have solid shelves and the
tires will be on-tread.
They are designing the building so that the carousel will start on the 1st
floor going through the 1st floor deck to the 2nd floor. IE: load tires from
the 2nd floor and then remove them for use on the 1st floor.
I plan on treating this as a fixed rack and using chapter 18, table 18.4(d)
ESFR sprinkler protection for 25ft of storage with a 30ft roof utilizing k25.2
@ 15psi +250 hose at the roof top of the 2nd floor to 15ft beyond the tire
carousel.
We are providing a water curtain around the opening at the 1st floor deck.
Question -Can I keep the OH2 (repair garage) density for the 1st floor
sprinkler system in the area around the tire carousel?

Thank you,
