I say OS&Y gate valve only required on pump suction unless 50 feet away can use butterfly valve. Or something like that. Can't imagine where that would happen 50 ft.
All other valves shown in diagram can be butterfly valves. I always put butterfly on each side of bypass check for servicing. That the way I see it. DO NOT click links or open attachments unless you recognize and trust the sender. ________________________________ Ran into a scenario where there is disagreement on whether Annex A information is enforceable since the Standard language specifically calls out an Annex figure: Here is the language from NFPA 20 (2022) Section 4.16.4 regarding bypass configurations and whether gates both up- and downstream of the bypass check are required: [cid:image002.png@01DB771A.B27CF3F0] Here is the explicitly referenced Annex figure: [cid:image003.png@01DB771A.B27CF3F0] I assert that, if explicitly referenced (as if referencing an outside document), that document becomes part of the standard and is enforceable as such. There are those who disagree and says that unless the Annex is formally adopted, it is not required. What say you? Ryan L.
