I don't see anywhere that it is specifically prohibited. But the pipe schedule 
tables only address steel pipe and copper pipe. So there is nothing to point to 
in the code that says how many sprinklers can be fed from a particular size of 
CPVC pipe.

Subject: [External][Sprinklerforum] CPVC and pipe scheduled systems

Oh knowledgeable ones:  Is there anything in NFPA 13 that prohibits the use of 
CPVC pipe/fittings in the remodel of an old pipe schedule system?  The intent 
is to maintain the pipe schedule and not provide calculations.  I'm not aware 
of anything, but I don't want this to bite me later.
