Hello Spyder testers and users on Ubuntu,
I am happy to announce that there is now a installable Ubuntu package
of Spyder v2.0.0beta4 available at:

https://launchpad.net/~pythonxy/+archive/individual-devel

Please test the package and report any problems and suggestions here.

The current package is based on code manually pulled from the
Mercurial repository at Google Code and then again manually added to a
Bazaar repository and pushed to Launchpad. This is now quite straight-
forward but still requires a but of an effort.
Due to time constraints, I can only update the package once or twice a
week. I will thus concen-trate on tagged revisions.

What is planned for the package:
* Harmonise Debian package properties with the package in the Ubuntu
repositories:
   http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/spyder
=> this will change the name of the package from spyderlib to
spyder...
* Check the desktop entry: category development vs. science
* add a screenshot of the package to http://screenshots.debian.net/
* re-initiate daily builds of the development version when the
Mercurial code import will have been fixed.

Hope this is appreciated and can enlarge our tester and user base.

Regards,
Timmie
