Locate the spyder.ini file.
Open it in an editor.
I expect all you have to do is delete the last incomplete statement at
the end.
It seems that the ini file gets chopped at an arbitrary location.
I have no clue yet what causes it (I work on a Mac and have not
experienced any problems).
I don't know whether just chopping the ini file causes any problems,
but it worked for my students.
I tried to find the spyder.ini file on googlecode svn, but couldn't
find it (maybe it is generated the first time you run Spyder?).
Warning: the above is a workaround not a fix,
Mark
