First, The dmg version for OS X is awesome. Thank you for all that effort!
I've pretty successfully used it with the latest Mountain Lion with one particular exception: graphics. I have a very particular need. I am planning on using python within a high school course on geosciences and climate. A major component is the python based courseware from Prof. Pierrehumbert. This module is inherently pyNGL based. In principle I should be able to get it to work with Mathplotlib. In reality, I have not been able to successfully install pyNGL into Spyder (I get socket errors when I put the resources into the package) and I have not been able to get ClimateUtilities working with Mathplotlib within Spyder (scripts run but no graphics and no errors - the most frustrating of outcomes ...) I could use EPD but I would *really* prefer to use Spyder. This is not a course in programming but a course that uses scientific programming tools to investigate climate (I use RStudio instead of vanilla R for the same reason). The pyNGL I am attempting to use is version 1.40 built for bumpy version 1.6.0 and python version 2.7.1 (obtained from Earth System Grid). I would think this pyNGL should work fine with numpy 1.6.2 and python 2.7.3. This graphics issue seems to be my only sticking point. Any pointers would be appreciated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "spyder" group.
