Do you mean autocompletion on the console? In that case, yeah, you need
to evaluate your file to get completions. Before that the console
doesn't know anything about your script.

HI All,
I am not sure if this is part of the feature of python or not, I found
that the auto-completion only works after I run the program for at
least once...
When I first start up Spyder and write a few lines of code in it, the
auto-completion wouldn't work unless I have run the same module for at
least once..otherwise, a 'tab' will not trigger auto-completion. At
the same time, auto-completion runs perfectly in the command console...
I found similar behavior in IDLEX...
Is this by nature?
