Hi all,

On the behalf of Spyder's development team, I'm pleased to announce the fourth public beta of our 2.2 version.

The most important bugs fixed in this new beta are one that prevented Spyder to run under PyQt 4.10 and another which provoked a segfault (under certain situations) when Spyder was starting. Besides, we've made our native MacOS X app to work much better with EPD, and added the ability to remove breakpoints from the Breakpoints widget.

This will be the last beta on a long stabilization process that started about two months ago. In two or three weeks we'll publish our release candidate and one week after that the final release. Thanks to every one that has been involved in this process.

We've been working on Spyder 2.2 for almost a year and as far as we know is very stable. There are still some minor bugs to squash but we encourage all people who like the bleeding edge to give it a try. It comes with several improvements, the most important ones being: IPython integration with its new qtconsole, a new debugger toolbar, breakpoints widget and a MacOs X application.

See the incomplete changelog here:

And don't forget to follow Spyder updates/news on the project website (http://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/) and on our official blog (http://spyder-ide.blogspot.com/). In the next couple of weeks I'll be writing a series of blogs describing in more detail our new changes

Enjoy!
Carlos
