Hi Tim,
My answers are below

experimental release but quite stable which already supports Python 3)
Nice.
I will update the Ubuntu package.
and the Optional Dependencies dialog box (see menu
"?") which gives the user a status of Spyder's dependencies
Two questions:
* running on Ubuntu 13.04 I have the package pyflakes installed. The
Spyder dialogue still show this as not installed.
This is very odd. I'll check it out in my virtual machine.
* Why is sympy an dependancy?
It's mentioned in the "Provided features" column: to do symbolic math on
the IPython console. The thing is we have an option under
Preferences > IPython Console > Advanced Settings
to preload Sympy on a console and start doing integrals, derivatives,
etc, and get the answers in beautiful latex.
Something on the future:
* Could you say something about your roadmap / release planning?
* Or will it always be like get-surprise-by-wonders (e.g. release when
ready)?
* Do you have a priority order for the issues you workon?
We are trying to do a new stable release every month but some things can
get in our way. So for example 2.2.1 was released after two months
because I was at SciPy, and this one after just 15 days because Pierre
has some free time to do it.
Besides we hope 2.3 will be ready in October. After that I think it
could take us 8 to 12 months to do a new release.
Thank you very much for this useful program!
