Hi Alex,

What is your Spyder version and how did you install it? I fixed this error in 2.2.4 but haven't had time to update our DMG, I hope to find some time available this weekend.

Cheers,
Carlos

Sorry this may be something simple, I am still new to python!

Whenever I try to import matplotlib I get the error "no module named sip" when it tries to do some QT stuff. If I run python from the terminal and try it works fine, it is only within spyder that it does not work. I have tried changing around all the options in the console/external modules tab and they did not solve the problem. I saw a couple mentions of sip in the forums, but nothing quite the same. I am running Python 2.7 on mac os 10.7. One other thing that may be important is that I am not using the regular system python, I have a separate installation in another directory, so I changed the python executable path in the preferences to match.

Thanks!
Alex
