Hi Josef,
You are right: All Spyder versions (i.e. installed in different Python
versions) share the same configuration dir and files. Don't worry about
it: we try to ensure compatibility for this up to Python 2.5.
However, this is going to change when we release Spyder 2.3, which is
going to have support for Python 3. We decided to use a different config
dir for Python 3 (called ".spyder2-py3") to avoid ugly freezes and
crashes that occur when sharing settings between Python 2 and 3. But all
Python 2 Spyder's will share ".spyder2" and all the Python 3 ones
".spyder2-py3"
Cheers,
Carlos

Just a basic question:
I'm running spyder in python 2.6 and in python 2.7 with different
version of installed packages. Both are fully installed
I only see one `.spyder2` in c:\user.
Do the different installed spyders all share the same configuration
files, history, ... or are there, for example, separate `.history`
files for each installed spyder.
Are there problems if I run different versions of spyder in different
python versions?
I haven't seen any yet. (I had initially problems with code
completion, but maybe because I installed rope after I installed
spyder.)
And thanks for spyder
