Hi,

This is a bug in the Editor and it's been known to us since the 2.2 release. Unfortunately I haven't had time to fix it because it's kind of tricky to do so.

Cheers,
Carlos

Hi,

Thanks for reporting back. Can you tell me if you have the option
"Automatic insertion of colons after 'for', 'if, etc" set in
'Preferences->Editor->Advanced settings'?

Maybe this is something linux-specific. Or maybe it's just my installation.

I see the same thing on my Linux installation:

Spyder Version:  2.3.0beta4
Python Version:  2.7.3
Qt Version    :  4.8.4, PyQt4 (API v2) 4.9.6 on Linux
pyflakes >=0.5.0:  0.5.0 (OK)
pep8 >=0.6      :  1.4.6 (OK)
IPython >=0.13  :  2.0.0 (OK)
pygments >=1.6  :  1.6 (OK)
sphinx >=0.6.6  :  1.2.2 (OK)
psutil >=0.3    :  2.1.0 (OK)
rope >=0.9.2    :  0.9.4 (OK)
matplotlib >=1.0:  1.2.0 (OK)
sympy >=0.7.0   :  0.7.5 (OK)
pylint >=0.25   :  0.25.1 (OK)

Thanks.

Hermano
