Hi, thanks for the answer. Being quite new to Spyder, I just noticed the bar related to the 80 chars limit. However, sincerely I am not sure that the forced limitation to fixed widht fonts is a good idea. For example in IPython I can also use variable width fonts, and actually I find them much more elegant and readable. Considering the time one can spend in a code editor like Spyder, I think that the attention to typography and readability should be highly considered. This is not a critic, because I consider Spyder a very nice project, but simply a suggestion from an interested user. Thanks.
