Hi guys, I'm normally a Windows user, so be kind :)

I'm trying to install Spyder on Ubuntu. I've downloaded and installed as
per the instructions, but I keep seeing the error message above.

I can run Spyder, but when I try to open an IPython console or use
matplotlib, I get the error "QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current
GTK+ theme."

So do I need to install GTK+? If so, which version? And do I need to
point spyder to it in some way?

My desktop seems to be XFCE.

Any help would be much appreciated.
