Hello everyone, I am planning to work for Sage <http://sagemath.org/> during Google Summer Of Code <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code> (if I get selected, that is) and my project would be to integrate sage into spyderlib.
Core features I've planned as of now are, Adding sage console backend (similar to ipython console?), Communication with sagecell server (it's a somewhat modified remote ipython kernel) and debugging (again a modified version of pdb.) I was wondering if someone from the community has already tried doing this in the past, as I saw this issue <https://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/issues/detail?id=851> (from 2011) mentioning this. As an aside, how hard do you guys think something like this would be? Sage being a big project and all. I'd also like to fix some easy bugs in spyder (as a way of getting to know the codebase), but I saw a mail that you guys plan to move to Github, so If in the meantime I have a pull ready, should I open it on bitbucket or wait till the migration to Github is complete? P.S - Spyder should apply for GSoC too, it's fun. https://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2015 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "spyder" group.
