Not A Mac user, so going out on a limb here. Pretty sure Spyder is just
using the Mac file finder and the issue lies there.
What happens if you use the File Finder outside of Spyder to look at
that folder?
Is there a context menu for the folder you want that has a way of
changing the mode/permissions/view of the folder?
