To have the option to run IJulia within spyder should not be too difficult, as
soon as IPython 3.0
is released. I would be very much interested in this.

Even better, start to implement such a plug-in.

Hi,
There is no IJulia nor Julia repl integration at the moment, just syntax highlighting in the
Editor, which was the thing mentioned in 2.3beta4.
There are no plans to do it right now and I think we won't accept it as part of the project. We
are a very small project, so we can't try to support a language that none of the core developers
knows very well.
But we are improving our support for third-party plugins so someone else can implement support for
Julia as an external project.
Cheers,
Carlos

What is the status of the project to integrate support for the JULIA language
into the Spyder IDE?
There arose promising hope about it by comments posted to the " Spyder 2.3 fourth beta release
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#%21searchin/spyderlib/Julia/spyderlib/bsqT33AJ3kI/jPEabhUcr2oJ>
" thread.
I found syntax highlighting to be integrated by now, but failed to find any IJulia or REPL
integration.
Would be nice to have it! Actually, I would appreciate if there would be the possibility to write
a Julia command somewhere at a Spyder integrated command line, outside the editor in order to
keep command trials out of the *.jl document in progress, and to then receive written output in
that Julia REPL and additionally the generated values pushed to the active workspace. MATLAB IDE
alike.
Is anybody working on the creation such functionality?
