I’m pleased to announce that Spyder 2.3.8 has been released and is
available for
Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X:

This release represents one month and a half of development since
version 2.3.7
and introduces several new features:
* Python and IPython consoles
o Fix a sitecustomize error when using Matplotlib 1.5 with Python
2 on Linux
* Variable Explorer
o Add support for Pandas Series when using Pandas 0.17+
o Fix a freeze when creating empty DataFrames in Python 2
o Fix a freeze when working with big Numpy recarray’s
