On the bottom of my spyder console is a metric that is measuring memory. It is circled in this screenshot:

When I look at the memory usage on my Mac in Activity Monitor, it's not using anything close to 64% of my computer's RAM. So it can't be percent of total memory available, but I can't find anything that suggests that spyder is running in a memory limited container. Does anyone have any insight?
