Hi,
You don't need to run that command inside a Python interpreter. Simply
open a system terminal (cmd.exe, Terminal.app or xterm/konsole) and
after doing it, run the command we give you, i.e.
conda install -c spyder-ide spyder-terminal
Cheers,
Carlos

Hi I am very new to this but the same problem is happening to me but
when I try to install spyder terminal I get this response:
>>> conda install -c spyder-ide spyder-terminal
File "<stdin>", line 1
conda install -c spyder-ide spyder-terminal
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

hello Everyone
I'm using anaconda 1.6.2. In the previous editions of spyder, an
inbuilt command prompt used to be there under tools in Spyder.
Now after updating Spyder, it's gone!!
Can someone tell me how to bring that feature back? It used to be
very useful since there was no need to open a Windows command
prompt to execute standalone python programs
