We're aware of this limitation and we're trying to fix it for Spyder 4.
Unfortunately, there's no way to make this work for Spyder 3, sorry.

and like to have them on different monitors. So I undock one of them
and move the window. However, then ctrl-shift-i and ctrl-shift-e do
not work anymore. That's just minor, but would greatly increase my
workflow by keeping my hands on the keyboard.
