Hi all,
On the behalf of the Spyder Project Contributors
<https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/graphs/contributors>, I’m pleased
to announce that Spyder *3.3* has been released and is available for
Windows, GNU/Linux and MacOS X:
https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/releases
This release comes almost 4 months after version 3.2.8 and it adds the
following new features:
*
Main Window
o Add a new error reporting dialog to simplify and automate the
process of submitting reports to Github.
*
IPython console
o Add an option to use a tight layout with inline plots. Activate
it under |Preferences > IPython console > Graphics|.
o Add an option to turn on/off Jedi completions. Activate it under
|Preferences > IPython console > Advanced|.
*
Variable Explorer
o Change the button names of all its viewers from |Ok| and
|Cancel| to |Save and Close| and |Close|, respectively, to
better express what each one really does.
o Fix several critical memory leaks.
*
Under the hood
o Remove support for PyQt 5.4 and older versions.
o Remove support for PyQt4.
o Remove support for Python 3.3.
o Move all code used to create kernels for our consoles to a new
package called |spyder-kernels|. It’s required version for
Spyder 3.3+ is any |0.x.x| release (e.g |0.2.3|).
o Add the |keyring| package as a new dependency to safely save
users Github passwords.
In this release we fixed 51 issues and merged 73 pull requests that
amount to almost 370 commits. For a full list of fixes, please see our
Changelog <https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/blob/3.x/CHANGELOG.md>.
