    However, strangely, the issue disappeared today. The only thing I
    did that could help resolve the issue was that I somewhat "Reset
    Spyder to factory defaults". So next time I encounter the same
    problem, I will try this again.

    I found another "problem" with the Spyder Notebook. On high
    resolution screen, the font size of the notebook opened within
    Spyder is too small compared with other areas of the Spyder
    interface, as shown in the following figure.
