Hi,

I am having a problem updating Spyder. At startup, a dialogue box is
telling me that Spyder version 4.0.1 is available. But I don't see it in
the Anaconda Navigator. When I look under "Install specific version", the
most recent version is listed as 3.3.6, which I already have. I would like
to have Spyder 4.0.1.

Things I've tried so far: 1) conda update spyder, 2) Uninstalled Anaconda,
installed the most recent version on the Anaconda website, 3) Uninstalled
Anaconda again, this time also manually deleted .anaconda, .conda, and
.spyder-py3 folders in my computer which apparently remain after Anaconda
is uninstalled, reinstalled the most recent version Anaconda.

None of these worked. Yes, unbelievable, but the Spyder that came inside
the Anaconda that I downloaded today also shows as version 3.6! How is this
possible!?

How can I get 4.0.1?
