Hi,
This is not possible at the moment, i.e. the IPython console, Editor and
Help and shown by default when you open Spyder. But please open an issue
here:
https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/issues
so we don't forget to address this in a future release.

'Variable Explorer' pane to be selected by default at startup.
