Years ago, long before SL was even a gleam in Dieter's eye, I needed of a system to record & report time, so... I wrote one. In C, no less, since that was the language of the era. It had/has two components: the recording component, & the reporting one. I still use it when clients require a minute-by-minute accounting of my time. I then take the figures it generates & place them directly into an SL service charge.
