Hi Rich,

It's been a while and I'm way back on 2.6.22 but I think you need to look on your server in /usr/local/sql-ledger/SL/ for the perl modules and then I think it's in CT "Customers and Vendors" and probably in subroutine '-sub search'.

Once you've found it IIRC the line has all of the options written out and there are either empty parenthesis or an 'x' in the parenthesis. I think all I did was edit the script and put 'x's into the parenthesis I wanted selected as default and remove them from where I didn't.

I don't program Perl either but I do have lots of programming experience and after looking over the code I was able to figure it out pretty easily. I don't think I could change anything major or operational but Perl is pretty friendly for editing names, changing defaults etc. When I said it took hours I meant to completely customize all of my screens. Once I figured out how easy it was I went through every menu I use on a regular basis and changed it all to my personal preferences.

Jeff,

Easy for you, perhaps difficult for me since I don't do perl. :-) Python,
C, and LaTeX, but not perl.

Can you point me to the script? When I grep for the misspelled 'titel' all
I find are Slovak language references.

Plus - this is one of the great joys of open source software, you can have
the defaults any way you want them.

Yup. That's all I've used for more then a dozen years now.
