Hi Bob,
Please keep in mind that I am currently running Ledger SMB 1.2.17
not SQL Ledger.
With that in mind I believe these instructions should still work.
If there are any differences please let me know.
** Reposting an Invoice by voiding **
these instructions should work for both vendor and sales invoices.
1. Open the Invoice for editing.
2. Append "-void" to the invoice number (eg: 1234 changes to 1234-void)
3. Set Quantities to negative (eg: 9 changes to -9) for all entries
4. Set any payments credited against the invoice as negative.
5. Click "post as new"
6. Reopen the original invoice for editing.
7. Append "-correction" or "-repost" etc to invoice number.
8. Make desired changes to invoice.
9. Click "post as new"
Essentially this leaves you with 3 invoices in the system.
1. The Original Invoice.
2. The Voiding Invoice.
3. The Corrected Invoice.
The Voiding Invoice should be an exact negation of the Original Invoice.
Due to the way that COGS is calculated you will have a temporary error
in cogs if there is any stock left and the prices (buy or sell) have
changed for the items sold or still in stock.
Once all items currently in stock are sold this cogs error will correct
itself.
I have plans to implement a patch to make this process automatic for
LedgerSMB, it should be easy enough to port the patch to SQL Ledger.
The patch will be a little while though, as things are a little hectic
here atm.
I also have been looking at ways of solving the cogs issue, the solution
will probably be to keep individual record of every single item bought
and sold for each stock line, and store information identifying that
item on the invoice.
This does open up a few issues, and is non trivial to implement.
If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Hi David,
The method we use is to void the invoice (by posting as new with an
altered invoice number 1234-VOID) then also posting the altered invoice
as new.
If you want clarification of this procedure please let me know and I
will be more specific.
I would be interested in knowing your method, if you don't mind
explaining...
