Hello all, My system wants to upgrade my postgresql from version 8.1.11 to
8.4.2, but I could make it upgrade to 8.1.18. (The package organization is
being changed and the present version is deprecated.) I'm running
sql-ledger 2.6.27. Is it safe to upgrade to 8.4, or should I stick to the
8.1 series?

FWIW, I am currently running postgres-8.3.x and L123-2.8.30. There should
be no reason why postgres-8.4.2 would not work. Almost always new features
are added. But, given that you might seriously consider upgrading
incrementally. That is, from your current 8.1.11 to 8.2.x to 8.3.x to 8.4.2.

While you're at it, upgrade SL to 2.8.30. Both versions are very old and
it would be worth your time and effort to bring both to current release
levels.
