Probably your Postgresql crashed. Stop it, kill all the remaining
instances and start it again. Then check if you can connect to the
database with
psql -U <dbuser> <your db>

I just downloaded the latest source tarball from the l123 github
repository and rsync'd it over the existing /usr/local/sql-ledger/. When I
try to log in I see this:

FATAL: could not open relation mapping file "global/pg_filenode.map":
Permission denied
I don't know where the 'global/' directory is, but all pg_filenode.map
files are in /usr/local/pgsql/data/ and are owned by me.
A clue stick on how to fix this permissions problem is needed.
