I think the fundamental question you have to ask before you figure out
what to do about it is why there is the imbalance.

I don't tend to do a lot of SQL-Ledger work these days since I am
focusing on LedgerSMB almost entirely, but if you want to hire someone
and you can't find anyone who wants to do it (please, ask the L123
folks first!  They can probably find the problem faster than I can
since they are more familiar with the specific changes they have made)
I am happy to take a look for you at my normal billable rate.

In general any time you see an imbalance, you have to ask why it's
happening.  It is a symptom that something could be wrong with your
data in your database.  It's important to find out why before other
problems occur.

As always, the queries I mentioned before are where I would start.  If
you use them I would hope they would show you the problem.  If not, it
may be something some more digging might be required to find.
