Hi Rich

I'm running Free BSD as a back-end, Fedora as a front end and Firefox as a browser, I do not have an option to change the file-name before saving. I can open it and then "save as" but that's just as clunky as saving then renaming.

I also really don't need a time-stamp in the file-name, I guess it would save errors of 'file already exists' during scripted runs but I don't do that so I can edit to make it more readable.

Quite often I print a file to 'screen' in .pdf format to get a copy of an invoice i can attach to an email.

Jeff,

  I do this each month.

SQL-Ledger forms the name of this file as
1318446785_invoice_6479.pdf
I don't know what that number is but I'd like to replace it with the customer name like this
IBM_invoice_6479

What I do, in the print dialog box before pressing the "Print" button is to change the name in the text extry widget. Works like a charm every time.
:-)
