Not sure if this helps, but we have some 100+ databases on our server for clients.
When we need to work at client premises or at home, we back-up the database using PGAdmin3 with the following options - Plain text - With OIDS - Create Database This can then be restored onto a laptop using psql and the \i file_name command. Once work is completed, we do the same on the laptop to create a backup and this is then restored on the server. Works OK, so assume that OIDS are not an issue.
